Jose Canseco Trashes House in L.A.: Following a Trend?

NY Daily News reports that retired baseball star Jose Canseco trashed his rented home in Los Angeles recently after being evicted for not paying his rent.  Apparently he's not making enough money from his tell-all books and failed boxing appearances to cover the payments.  Should be interesting to see this story develop.

Trashing homes is becoming a trend for retired baseball players who find themselves heading towards financial ruin.  Lenny Dykstra's multi-million dollar home was also found trashed back in 2009 after he filed bankruptcy and lost control of his case.  According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ.com), Lenny Dykstra's home was found  "littered throughout with empty beer bottles, trash, dog feces and urine and other unmentionables...with raw sewage escaping from the main drain line left undone".   Could not have been a pretty sight, and certainly could not have helped the home's resale value.
