Boston Blazers Lacrosse Team Trying to Raise Their Ticket Sales...Among Other Things

According to the AP, the Boston Blazers have some explaining to do:
Boston's professional indoor lacrosse team is apologizing for a racy halftime show featuring scantily-dressed women giving lap dances to the team's mascot.
Youtube has some amateur video taken from the stands which shows the incident (note to the parents out there to make sure their kids aren't watching this).  Despite the poor quality of the video, which has some shaky camerawork and no zoom available, you can get a good idea of what was going on.  The PA announcer was pretty enthusiastic and trying to rally the crowd, plus there was a strategically placed sound effect after one of the girls finishes her dance.  No way to tell exactly how many families and underage youngsters were there.  Can we say INAPPROPRIATE!!
Boston Blazer's general manager Doug Reffue says the team was "extremely disappointed" with parts of the halftime show Saturday at the TD Garden. On Monday, Reffue said it was part of a halftime promotion that "wasn't executed according to how it was spelled out to us."
Reading between the lines, someone might be getting fired for this.  On the other hand, the Boston Blazers' season just started, so if they notice an increase in ticket sales, maybe they'll say it was worth the bad publicity?  Let's hope not.

Update:   The Boston Blazers web site home page has the formal apology of Boston Blazers president/GM Doug Reffue.  As an apologetic gesture, he is offering 2000 free tickets to families for this weekend's home game against the Rochester Nighthawks.  Just another way to say "Sorry, our bad."
