Everson Griffen Arrested For Alleged Assault of L.A. Cop: Second Arrest In 3 Days

Today's AP story provides another lesson from the common sense file:  Never hit a cop.
LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles police say Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen has been arrested for allegedly assaulting an officer during a traffic stop.
Police spokeswoman Karen Rayner told City News Service that officers used a Taser to subdue Griffen during a struggle Monday afternoon after a routine traffic stop in South Los Angeles.
Rayner said Griffen became "uncooperative and tried to run from officers." She said when officers caught up with him, he assaulted one and a Taser was used to take him into custody.
She said he was booked for investigation of felony battery.
What makes this worse is that according to TMZ, this is the second time Griffen has been arrested in three days:

TMZ has learned Griffen was also arrested just this past Friday night in Hollywood ... and booked for being drunk in public. He was released on Saturday.
Something tells me that someone needs to talk to Everson Griffen, and soon.  He may already be looking at a suspension by the league if these charges hold up, but if he continues down this path, he'll be out of a job.
