New York Islanders Come Out Fighting Against Pittsburgh Penguins

In the last meeting between the New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins last week, Penguins goalie Brent Johnson took down Islanders goalie Rick DiPietro with one punch.  DiPietro had broken bones in his face and was knocked out of action for 4-6 weeks.  The Islanders were determined to answer back in their next meeting against the Penguins, and they certainly did in last night's 9-3 victory:
The teams combined for 65 penalties that totaled 346 minutes and including 10 ejections. There were 15 fighting majors and 20 misconducts in the game that set records for both teams for most combined penalty minutes and left few players around to finish it.
Things were so heated, that a fence between the two dressing rooms was shut during a hallway lockdown. NHL suspensions will likely be a result, too.
True hockey fans love a good fight, but the fans at Nassau Coliseum got more than their money's worth last night.  The Penguins return to Long Island on April 8th, so buy your tickets now.
