Video: Sergio Ramos Drops Real Madrid's Championship Trophy Under a Bus

Congratulations to Real Madrid for winning the 2011 Copa del Rey trophy yesterday with a 1-0 win over Barcelona.  This called for a huge celebration and a parade through downtown Madrid.  Nothing could put a damper on this moment.  Well, unless something crazy happened, like dropping the championship trophy in front of a bus, but that would never happen, right?

Oh yes, it could, and it did last night, thanks to Sergio Ramos. Whoops.

Dirty Tackle provides the details:
When Real arrived back in a rain-soaked Madrid and boarded an open-top bus that would take them to the center of the late-night celebrations at the Plaza de Cibeles, Sergio Ramos took hold of the Copa del Rey trophy and held it high above his head at the front of the bus as it moved slowly through the streets. Maybe it was the rain, maybe it was all the jubilant jostling on the bus or maybe it was just Sergio Ramos being a spaz, but at approximately 4:15 a.m., the trophy slipped out of his hands and fell under the bus.
Well, at least nobody got hurt, and the fans were probably so excited over winning the championship after an 18-year drought that they were probably in a forgiving mood.  I'm sure Sergio Ramos feels bad enough that he wouldn't mind taking part of his next paycheck to pay for a replacement trophy.  He's earned at least that level of goodwill now that he is part of a championship team.
