Chicago Bulls' Joakim Noah Apologizes For Using Gay Slur Towards Fan

The Chicago Bulls' Joakim Noah said something he shouldn't have said in the heat of the moment last night, and it looks like he will be paying the price with his wallet.
Noah was angry after picking up his second foul with 6:26 left in the first quarter. After sitting down on the bench he turned to his right and shouted toward a fan.
The incident was caught live on TNT during their coverage of Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the visiting Bulls and the host Miami Heat last night.  (Warning:  although you can't actually hear Noah, you can read his lips pretty clearly, and the language is not appropriate for children)

"I apologize," Noah said. "The fan said something to me that I thought was disrespectful, and I got caught up in the moment, and I said some things that I shouldn't have said. I was frustrated and I don't mean no disrespect to anybody. I just got caught up."
The NBA has just set the precedent for use of homophobic slurs with the $100K fine of Kobe Bryant last month, so Joakim Noah can expect to pay a similar fine.
