Video: Fan Gets Hit In Face By Foul Ball at Yankee Stadium

In the bottom of the fifth inning at Yankee Stadium yesterday, New York Yankees third baseman Eric Chavez hit a fly ball down the right field line that would have been a home run if it were a fair ball.  The ball ended up foul, but unfortunately a fan in the front row behind the outfield wall was hit directly in the face with the baseball.

Watch YES network coverage of the play here courtesy of MLB.com.  The fan did appear to be looking up in the air, but clearly wasn't expecting the line drive coming at him, or he would have prepared himself.  He ended up with a bloody nose but otherwise appeared to be OK.

Note that back in June, Deadspin reported a fan at Yankee Stadium was hit in the face with a ground rule double that bounced into the stands.  Ironically, that fan was sitting in ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME SEAT as the guy in yesterday's game.
