Video: Soccer Player Grabs Opponent's Groin During Match, Receives No Penalty

In a battle for the ball during Chile's 2-1 win over Mexico in the Copa America opening match for both teams, Chile's Gary Medel grabs Mexico's Gio Dos Santos in the groin, leaving Dos Santos in obvious pain.

Medel received no penalty for the play, so that essentially means the "groin grab" must be legal.  That will encourage others to try it now, opening the door for a disturbing trend in the sport.  Let's hope the referees enforce the rules next time.

Lesson for the day:  If Gary Medel is nearby, you better protect yourself.
