Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia received a shock yesterday when he received a clubhouse visit from one of his idols: wrestling champion Ric Flair.
According to the Boston Globe, the Red Sox clubhouse has become a home of wrestling collectibles recently. Pedroia had recently purchased one of Ric Flair's old robes on EBay, which inspired Red Sox media relations director Pam Ganley to arrange a visit from Ric Flair himself. Flair gave Dustin Pedroia a gift of an authentic TNA championship belt. Pedroia was surprised and maybe a little starstruck, but certainly appreciative of the visit.
As a bonus for Red Sox fans, Ric Flair announced the starting lineup for the TV broadcast. Woo!
