Video: Youth Football Referee Attacked By Coaches And Players During Brawl in Florida

A very scary scene in Florida yesterday during a youth football game as coaches and at least one player attacked a referee.

It happened at a game played at Riverview High School between the Sarasota Gators and the North Port Huskies in the 13-14 year old division when coaches of the Gators were unhappy with some calls by one of the referees.

Things got out of control when things turned physical between Gators coaches and the referee.  A Gators player ran in with a full head of steam and tackled the referee.  Some of the Gators coaches continued to go after the referee while he was down, and at least one coach is seen kicking the referee in the head.

Authorities will probably be using this video as evidence, and it should be noted that battery against an official is a felony in the state of Florida.  Warning:  this video is disturbing to watch (and must have been even more disturbing for those in attendance).

Needless to say, this is not what football is supposed to be about.
