Islanders Lose To Sharks in OT After Controversial Delay of Game Penalty Call

The San Jose Sharks defeated the New York Islanders 4-3 in overtime yesterday on a power play goal in overtime. However, there is controversy over the official's penalty call that gave the Sharks the one-man advantage in OT.

Islanders defenseman Travis Harmonic was called for a delay of game penalty 29 seconds into overtime for allegedly hitting the puck over the glass. However, the replay shows multiple angles of the puck hitting the top of the glass, and you can see the puck change direction once it hits. Also, if you listen closely during the live action, you can actually hear the puck hit the glass.

Pardon the pun, but the Islanders got the short end of the stick on this one.
