Video: NFL Referee Gets Caught In Scrum For Loose Ball Between Bengals And Ravens

NFL referee Ron Winter was crushed in a pile of players who were scrambling for a loose ball in yesterday's football game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens.

It happened in the third quarter of Sunday's football game. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton threw an interception to Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith. Smith ran the ball back about 15 yards when the ball was punched out of his hand by Bengals receiver Jerome Simpson. The ball flew into the air and rolled towards the 2-yard line, right where Ron Winter was standing.

Winter made his best efforts to avoid getting caught in the pile, but was hit in the back by Bengals tackle Andre Smith and was knocked to the ground. Ravens defenders made their best efforts to avoid hitting Winter directly as he was falling, but Winter was crushed on the bottom of the pile of players as they scrambled for the loose ball.

In the end, the Ravens were given possession of the ball, and Ron White needed some time to clear his head, but appeared to be OK afterwards.
