Argentine Goalkeeper Bites Face of Opponent (Video)

In soccer, you can use your head, but you can't use your teeth.

You would think that would be common sense, but a goalkeeper in Argentina had to learn this the hard way after being ejected from a match for biting the face of an opposing player.

It happened during a Liga Roca semifinal match between Deportivo Motokart (a.k.a. DM Kart) and Recreativo Estrellas which took place in the town of Jovita in the Cordoba province of Argentina.  DM Kart striker Nicolas Cardinal was attacking the Recreativo Estrellas goal for a potential rebound of a shot from a teammate, but got tied up with opposing goalkeeper Gabriel Orozco as the shot was being deflected over the crossbar.  As Cardinal was holding onto Orozco to try to regain his balance, Orozco took a bite of Cardinal's face.

After referees saw the bite wound, Orozco was tossed and his reputation of being a clean player will have a permanent stain.  Cardinal had a noticable wound on his cheek and was taken to the hospital by his team's medical staff.
