Steelers-49ers Monday Night Football Game Delayed By Power Outages (Video)

A blown transformer caused the lights to go out at Candlestick Park in San Francisco last night, delaying the opening kickoff of Monday night's NFL game between the 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers by 20 minutes.

Backup power kicked in and the game started after the delay, but in the second quarter, the power went out again, causing another delay in the action.

The first power outage happened around 8:19PM EST. Video captured the transformer explosion, followed by Candlestick Park going dark.

Around 9:43PM EST, late in the second quarter of the game, the power went out again, halting the game for about 15 minutes:

Fortunately, the power issues were resolved after the second outage and the game was able to be played to completion, with the 49ers defeating the Steelers 20-3.
