Chocolate-covered strawberry on ice causes delay at Blues-Blue Jackets game (Video)

An extremely unusual sighting occured during Tuesday night's NHL matchup in Columbus between the Blue Jackets and the visiting St. Louis Blues when a chocolate-covered strawberry was thrown onto the ice by a fan, causing a brief delay in the game.

Tuesday was Valentine's Day after all, but it's unclear why the strawberry was thrown on the ice. No goal was scored at the time, so we don't expect this to become a hockey tradition like the octopus in Detroit.

Was someone unhappy on their date? Or unhappy with the Blue Jackets in general? I guess we'll never know.

The Blue Jackets beat the Blues 2-1.
