Rajon Rondo throws ball at ref, gets ejected, suspended 2 games (Video)

Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo has been suspended for two games after losing his cool during Sunday's NBA game in Detroit against the Pistons and throwing the ball at the referee, which hit the ref in the chest.

It happened in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Pistons. Rondo was upset after being knocked down in the lane by Pistons center Greg Monroe after Rondo tried to position himself for a rebound of his own shot. Rondo did get a rebound shortly afterwards on a missed three point shot by Celtics forward Mickael Pietrus, but a shot clock violation was called as the shot didn't hit the rim. With the brief stoppage in the action, Rondo began arguing with referee Sean Wright, then tossed the ball hard right into Wright's chest. Rondo was immediately assessed with a double technical and was sent to the locker room.

The Celtics lost to the Pistons 96-81. On Monday, the NBA announced that Rondo will be suspended for 2 games because of the toss. It was the right call to make, as there is no place in the game for that kind of behavior.
