Arizona Diamondbacks center fielder Chris Young lost his glove over the wall as he failed to catch a Padres home run ball Wednesday in San Diego.
It happened in the bottom of the eighth inning as Padres outfielder Chris Denorfia hit a fly ball to deep center field. Young ran back to the wall and timed his leap well, but his glove fell off on the way up. It would have been a close play had Young not lost his glove.
Denorfia's home run was a 2-run homer which accounted for the only Padres runs of the game. However, that was all that the Padres needed as they defeated the Diamondbacks 2-1, giving Arizona their first loss of the season.
