Joel Peralta gets crossed up when Jose Molina and home plate umpire throw him baseballs at same time (Video)

Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Joel Peralta was thrown for a loop when catcher Jose Molina and home plate umpire Mark Wegner threw a ball back to him at the same time during Monday night's game at Tropicana Field against the Cleveland Indians.

It happened in the top of the seventh inning after Peralta made his first pitch to Indians batter Jason Kipnis, which popped out of Molina's glove and rolled about 10 feet away. As Wegner pulled out a new baseball and prepared to throw it to Peralta, Molina tracked down the old baseball. As a result, both Molina and Wegner ended up throwing baseballs to the mound at the same time, leaving Peralta to sort out the crossfire by trying to catch one while avoiding getting hit by the other one.

It was an awkward moment that prompted laughter from the crowd and led a broadcaster to say "Maybe he could juggle 'em."
