MSG reporter hit in face with puck during Rangers-Islanders game (Video)

MSG reporter John Giannone hit in face with puck
MSG Network reporter John Giannone took a puck to the face during Thursday night's New York Rangers game at Madison Square Garden against the New York Islanders.

It happened in the final seconds of the second period as Rangers defenseman Marc Staal tried to send the puck down the ice, but accidentally flipped he puck towards Giannone's spot at ice level between the team benches. There was no glass to protect Giannone, who was immediately attended to by one of the Rangers trainers for cuts on the bridge of his nose and his forehead. Fortunately, Giannone was not more seriously hurt and, being the consummate professional, stayed at his post for the third period.

The Rangers may want to put up some glass to protect these reporters from now on. It's a shame that Giannone had to get hit in the face before someone brought attention to this.
