Rangers defenseman Marc Staal takes slapshot to the face (Video)

New York Rangers defenseman Marc Staal took a slapshot in the face off a deflection during the third period of Tuesday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

It happened after a faceoff in the Rangers' end as Flyers defenseman Kimmo Timonen took the slapshot near the blue line, which deflected off Flyers forward Jakuub Voracek into Staal's right eye.

Play was stopped as Staal (who does not wear a visor) went down, and he did not return after leaving the ice. No word yet as to Staal's condition.
