Ryan Howard homers for blind boy who asked him to hit one (Video)

Philadelphia Phillies slugger Ryan Howard hit a home run during Friday night's game at Citizens Bank Park after meeting a blind boy before the game who asked him to hit one.

The boy, named A.J., nominated his vision support teacher, Ms. Bethann Molinari from Hopewell Elementary School in Center Valley, PA, as a Teacher All-Star in a contest held by the Phillies and the Philadelphia Enquirer. Ms. Molinari was picked as one of the 10 contest winners and she was invited, along with A.J., to be recognized at Phillies Teacher Appreciation Night before the game against the Miami Marlins.

A.J., who has Leber’s congential amaurosis which renders him legally blind, presented Howard with a special wristband and asked him to hit a home run. Howard delivered with a second inning homer, topping off a special day for A.J.
