Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith slashed Los Angeles Kings center Jeff Carter in the face during the second period of Tuesday night's Game 3 of the NHL Western Conference Finals.
Carter went down to the ice after getting whacked in the mouth with Keith's stick, although he apologized immediately afterwards and did so again after the game via the media. Keith was given a double minor penalty for high sticking, and we'll see if there is any additional punishment from the league.
It was a frustrating night for the Blackhawks as they lost to the Kings 3-1, but they still hold a 2-1 lead in the series.
UPDATE: Duncan Keith has been suspended by the NHL for Game 4 of the series.
