Brazil footballer injured during backflip celebration of first career goal
In Copa do Brazil third round football action early Thursday morning, a 19-year-old Brazilian football player injured himself while celebrating his first career goal with a backflip.

Maurides scored a goal in the 88th minute to give Internacional a 3-1 lead over America MG. Maurides was clearly excited and celebrated with a cartwheel followed by a backflip, but his knee buckled a bit as he stuck the landing. Maurides had to be carried off the pitch in a stretcher, but fortunately his injury was diagnosed as only a knee sprain and he will not miss much time.

You would hope people would have learned something from Bill Gramatica and the injury he suffered from excessive celebration, but some people have to learn their lessons the hard way. Hopefully this is a lesson that Maurides doesn't soon forget.

H/T Dirty Tackle.
