Retired Seattle Mariners outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. was inducted into the Mariners Hall of Fame on Saturday in a special ceremony before the game. One of the highlights from the ceremony was a special video message from former Mariner (and current New York Yankee outfielder) Ichiro Suzuki congratulating Griffey on receiving this great honor.
Ichiro referred to "The Kid" as his hero growing up, and referred to the brief time that they spent together as teammates (during the 2009 and 2010 seasons) as something he will always remember.
