Carlos Gomez HR admiration ignites Braves-Brewers brawl (Video)

Milwaukee Brewers center fielder Carlos Gomez ignited a bench clearing brawl with the Atlanta Braves in the first inning of Wednesday night's game at Turner Field when he took a bit too long to admire his home run before jogging the bases.

Gomez hit the ball deep to left and watched it for a few seconds before one of the Braves (either catcher Brian McCann or first baseman Freddie Freeman) began shouted some expletives towards Gomez demanding that he start running. Freeman was seen having words with Gomez as he rounded first, with Gomez chirping right back. McCann became so enraged that he stood about 15 feet in front of home plate, blocking Gomez from crossing it. Once McCann and Gomez went nose to nose, both benches cleared.

Fortunately no major punches were thrown as cooler heads were able to keep things from getting out of hand. In the end, Gomez and Freeman were tossed from the game, and the umpires gave the Brewers credit for the run despite the fact that Gomez never crossed the plate.
