SMU scores miracle 2-point conversion to force OT against Rutgers (Video)

The SMU Mustangs lost 55-52 in overtime Saturday to Rutgers, but they would not have been in OT without a miracle throw and catch to convert a game-tying two-point conversion with 1:19 left in regulation.

SMU quarterback Garrett Gilbert took the shotgun snap and scrambled all the way back to the 23 yard line, then ran towards the sideline and scrambled to the 8-yard line before heaving it all the way across the field to the back of the end zone. Amazingly, the ball was caught by receiver Jeremy Johnson, who had the toes of both of his feet in the end zone for the 2-pt conversion. Talk about the play of the year.
