Joe Thornton scores lucky goal with incredibly crazy puck bounces (Video)

San Jose Sharks center Joe Thornton scored a first period goal in Friday night's game against Vancouver thanks to some incredibly lucky puck bounces.

Thornton sent the puck off the back boards behind the net, but probably wasn't planning for it to bounce up off the base of the net and hop along the top of it. The unusual bounces confused Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo, who accidentally knocked the puck into the net as he turned to look for it.

Of course, it's possible that the lucky shot was what Thornton planned all along. In that case, we'd love to see Thornton make that shot again. However, we won't be holding our breath.

In the end, the Canucks were able to overcome the rogue puck and beat the Sharks 4-2.
