Columbus Blue Jackets forward Boone Jenner shattered his stick on a shot attempt and sent his stick blade flying into the net, fooling the home fans into thinking the Jackets had scored a goal, during the third period of Thursday night's game against Philadelphia.
The puck barely moved on Jenner's shot attempt, but his stick blade flew into the goal past the Flyers goalie, so it was understandable when watching the play at full speed to see why the fans thought Jenner had scored. You certainly don't see this happen too often, if ever.
The Jackets were already up 5-2 with less than 2 minutes remaining in the game, so they didn't need the extra goal anyway.
