Patrick Kane scores own goal in Blackhawks empty net (Video)

Chicago Blackhawks right winger Patrick Kane accidentally scored an own goal in the second period of Sunday's game against Edmonton.

It happened on a Blackhawks power play in the second period as they gambled by taking goaltender Antti Raanta off the ice to bring on an extra skater, leaving an empty net. Kane tried to bounce a pass from behind the net to his teammate at the blue line, but no one was waiting for the pass, and the puck found its way across the ice and into the empty net.

Oilers center Boyd Gordon was credited with the shorthanded goal which tied the game at 2-2. Fortunately, Marian Hossa scored a goal for the Blackhawks just 29 seconds later, taking Kane off the hook, and the Blackhawks won the game 5-3.
