Cubs pitcher and catcher collide on popup, still make out (Video)

Chicago Cubs pitcher Pedro Strop and catcher John Baker collided while fielding a popup on a bunt attempt during Thursday's game in Pittsburgh, but fortunately still managed to make the out.

It happened in the top of the ninth as Pirates batter Gaby Sanchez bunted the 0-1 pitch straight up in the air in front of home plate. In an apparent miscommunication, Strop and Baker both went for the ball at full speed. Strop made the catch just before the players bumped heads, knocking Baker onto his back as his helmet went flying off. The helmet probably saved Baker from serious injury, however, as although he took the worst of the collision, he appeared to be OK.

The catch helped the Cubs hang on for the 3-2 victory.
