Hunter Pence accidentally blocked from catching foul ball by Oakland cop (Video)

San Francisco Giants right fielder Hunter Pence was accidentally blocked on his attempt to catch a foul fly ball near the bullpen by an Oakland police officer who couldn't get out of the way.

In the bottom of the fourth, A's batter Stephen Vogt hit a fly ball towards the Giants bullpen in foul territory near right field. The Oakland cop, who was providing security for the bullpen, was apparently trying to get out of the way, but he ended up running towards the ball. Meanwhile, Pence had a bead on it, but just as it looked like he was going to catch it, he ran into the cop and the ball fell on the bullpen bench.

Given the rivalry between the A's and Giants, it doesn't look good that the officer involved in the play is from Oakland. However, it doesn't appear that there was any malicious intent on his part.

The A's ballboy positioned near the Giants bullpen had some good advice for the cop: Next time, run AWAY from the ball.
