Ronald Bolisario throws wild pitch during intentional walk (Video)

Ronald Bolisario's relief appearance for the Tampa Bay Rays did not go well Monday night, as it went off the rails after throwing a wild pitch during an intentional walk.

Bolisario came into the game in the top of the ninth with the Cleveland Indians holding a 3-1 lead. With Indians runners on second and third with one out, the plan was to walk batter Michael Brantley to load the bases. Unfortunately, Bolisario's first pitch to Brantley was sky high and about 10 feet wide of home plate.

The Indians runners advanced, with Jason Kipnis scoring from third. The wild pitch led the way to a 4-run rally for the Indians, including one run that scored on another wild pitch by Bolisario.

With all the proposals about improving the pace of play in major league baseball, remember that if intentional walks were to be eliminated, plays like this would never happen.
