Miguel Sano robbed of HR as moon shot hits catwalk (Video)

Minnesota Twins third baseman Miguel Sano was robbed of a home run when the moon shot that he crushed hit a catwalk near the roof of Tropicana Field during the third inning of Thursday night's game against Tampa Bay.

The ball that Sano hit probably would have landed 100 feet past the fence in left-center field, but according to the rules, the catwalk is in play. Sano had to settle for a double, although Brian Dozier was allowed to score from first base on the play, so Sano did earn an RBI.

Unfortunately, Sano never came around to score, as the next Twins batter flied out to end the inning. As luck would have it, the Rays ended up winning the game 5-4, so that monster shot that didn't count could have made a difference in the game. Maybe in the offseason, someone can take another look at the Tropicana Field ground rules. You can't tell us that Sano didn't deserve a home run for his Herculean efforts.
