Mike Olt's errant around-the-horn throw hits umpire in groin (Video)

Chicago White Sox third baseman Mike Olt made an errant around-the-horn throw that caught the second base umpire in the groin during the eighth inning of Sunday's game in Kansas City.

After Royals batter Mike Moustakas struck out, catcher Rob Brantly started the around-the-horn with the throw to Olt. It was all good at that point, but Olt's toss to shortstop Alexei Ramirez went just a bit wide. It just so happened that second base umpire Brian Knight was standing in the short outfield grass and naturally wasn't expecting a baseball to be coming his way.

The video of Olt's bad throw was taken from behind home plate, but if there was any question as to where the ball made contact with Knight's body, pitcher Zach Duke's priceless reaction removes all doubt:

Lesson to umpires: Always be paying attention.
