Derek Stepan scores on Jonathan Bernier from center ice (Video)

New York Rangers center Derek Stepan beat Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Jonathan Bernier from center ice for a second period goal during Sunday night's game at Madison Square Garden.

Stepan was simply dumping the puck towards the Maple Leafs net. Bernier didn't have his stick in position, and the puck found a hole between his legs for the score.

Back in January, Bernier gave up a shorthanded goal from center ice against Arizona, making this the second time he has given up a goal from center ice in less than a year. Not a good thing.

The goal gave the Rangers a 2-1 lead on the way to a 4-3 victory, so the center ice goal made all the difference in the game.
