In Bundesliga soccer action, Bayer Leverkusen coach Heiko Herrlich took a dive in a shameful attempt to draw a foul on an opposing player during Wednesday's third round match of the DFP Cup against Borussia Monchengladbach.
It happened in the 75th minute as Gladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria gently brushed by him while chasing a loose ball that went out of bounds. Herrlich fabricated the "excessive" contact by throwing himself to the ground.
Herrlich apologized after the match.
