Tampa Bay Lightning fans drink from Stanley Cup at Florida beach party

A group of Tampa Bay Lightning fans was recently seen on a Florida beach taking turns drinking directly from the Stanley Cup. Based on our research, the party took place at Don CeSar hotel at St. Pete Beach, where Lightning assistant Jeff Halpern was hosting a private celebration on the beach with family and friends. It is tradition for each player and coach of the NHL champions to spend a day with the Stanley Cup, this was apparently Halpern's day. Normally this would not be a big deal, but during a global pandemic, situations like this come under more scrutiny. St. Pete does have a mask ordinance in effect, but Florida bars local governments from assessing fines and penalties for noncompliance. We just hope people use common sense and be careful out there.
