Indians fan makes barehanded leaping catch of foul ball (Video)

A Cleveland Indians fan made a great leaping catch with his bare hands during Wednesday's game at Progressive Field against the Detroit Tigers.

It happened in the seventh inning as Tigers DH Delmon Young hit a deep foul ball into the left field stands. The fan, wearing a vintage 1916 1920 Indians jersey, jumped up and bobbled the ball once before catching it with his bare hands.

It's a good thing the fan didn't have a microphone on him, because he let out an expletive as he expressed his excitement after catching the ball.

  1. Thank you for posting this! I am the fan that caught the ball and I needed to do a little correction to your story. The jersey is circa 1920, worn from the time of Ray Chapman's death until the end of the season, hence the armband on the left arm. Thank you for posting this and yes, my excitement did cause me to yell a profanity.
