Andrelton Simmons grounds out on pitch in the dirt (Video)

Atlanta Braves shortstop Andrelton Simmons grounded out in the ninth inning of Sunday's game against the New York Mets after managing to make contact with his swing despite the pitch bouncing in the dirt.

Simmons swung at an 0-2 pitch from Mets reliever Carlos Torres that bounced about a foot in front of home plate, but managed to make solid contact, hitting a grounder to first base.

Simmons had a rough day batting, going 0-for-6 in the 14-inning loss to the Mets.
