Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid drilled San Jose Sharks Marcus Sorensen with a clean hit during the second period of Thursday night's Game 5 of their first round Western Conference playoff series.
Sorensen was in the neutral zone and didn't see McDavid coming. McDavid lined him up and took him out, knocking Sorensen right off his feet.
Sorensen seemed perfectly fine, although he was sent to the locker room after his shift to be checked out as a precaution. He did return to the game.
A few minutes later, McDavid would nab an assist. The Oilers came back from 3-1 down to win the game 4-3 in overtime and take a 3-2 series lead.
