San Francisco Giants pitcher Jake Peavy lost the grip on his bat, sending it flying and hitting Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Jake Lamb, while striking out during Thursday's game at AT&T Park.
Lamb was playing on the edge of the infield grass to protect against a bunt with a Giants runner on third base. Peavy swung at a pitch low and away and was unable to get a piece of it, but threw it right at Lamb.
Fortunately, Lamb was prepared and knocked the bat down with his glove, so no harm, no foul.
