Watch Klay Thompson's record-setting 37-point third quarter (Video)

To say that Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson was on fire during the third quarter of Friday night's game against Sacramento would be an understatement.

In the third, Thompson made all 13 of his shots from the field, including 9-for-9 from 3-point range, combined with two foul shots for a total of 37 points. In the process, Thompson set NBA records for most points scored in a quarter and most 3-pointers made in a quarter.

Needless to say, the home crowd at ORACLE Arena went wild as Thompson put on a performance for the ages. Thompson finished with a career-high 52 points as the Warriors blew out the Kings 126-121. The Warriors have now won 12 of their last 13 games.

Meanwhile, the Kings have fallen apart recently, as they have lost 14 of 19 games since the firing of head coach Mike Malone. Was that a mistake?
