Jared Boll ejected for blindside hit on Pierre-Edouard Bellemare (Video)

Columbus Blue Jackets right winger Jared Boll was ejected from Tuesday night's game against Philadelphia for laying out Flyers right winger Pierre-Edouard Bellemare with a blindside hit.

It happened at the 3:26 mark of the second period as Bellemare was chasing the puck out of the Flyers zone with his head down. Boll had Bellemare lined up and laid him out, leading to a scrum as he was quickly attacked by two Flyers players in retaliation.

The linesman wasted no time making the penalty call, as Boll was given a five minute major for interference and a game misconduct. Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella disagreed with the game misconduct, even going so far as to prevent Boll from leaving the ice until the linesman forced Boll to leave.

In the end, the Blue Jackets beat the Flyers 3-2 in a shootout.
