Norwegian alpine ski racer Kjetil Jansrud was involved in a scary crash that knocked him out of Friday's World Cup Super-G competition at Beaver Creek. 

It happened about midway through the course when Jansrud lost control and slid into the fence on the side of the slope, twisting and flipping over after the collision. Jansrud was clearly in pain as he grabbed his knee once he finally came to a stop.

   

Jansrud was down for a few minutes, leading to a brief delay in the competition as he was tended to. Fortunately, he was able to get up on his feet as he seemed determined to make it down the rest of the course under his own power. 

Jansrud is a well-decorated skier, having won several World Cup races during his career in addition to a silver medal in the giant slalom at the 2010 Olympics. According to NBC Sports, he had previously stated to Norwegian media that this was likely to be his last year on the World Cup circuit. Whatever happens, we wish Jansrud the best.
