Sheraldo Becker celebrates goal with 'Spider-Man' mask (Video)

Sheraldo Becker wears Spider Man mask, FC Union Berlin vs. SC Freiburg, 5/13/2023
In Bundesliga soccer action, FC Union Berlin forward Sheraldo Becker celebrated his first goal of Saturday's match against SC Freiburg by putting on a Spider-Man mask.

It happened in the 36th minute with Union Berlin already holding a 1-0 lead. After putting the ball in the back of the net on a nutmeg of Freiburg goalkeeper Mark Flekken, Becker conveniently had the Spider-Man mask ready to go as he pulled it out within seconds of scoring.

Becker had some trouble with the mask as he put it on backwards at first, but he got it right eventually. The Berlin fans didn't seem to care (and may have been too far away to notice if they were in the stands).

The goal was Becker's 10th of the season. He would go on to score another goal just two minutes later to give Union Berlin a 3-0 lead. He did not pull out the mask for that one.

We are definitely behind having fun, but we ask that players be careful while celebrating. We have seen too many incidents of players suffering serious injuries during goal celebrations. It is extremely unlikely to hurt yourself while putting on a mask, although if you put it on backwards like Becker initially did, you are more prone to tripping and falling, which could lead to injury.

SC Freiburg made a valiant second half comeback attempt, but FC Union Berlin was able to hold them off to win the match 4-2. The win put Union Berlin into third place in league standings with two matches remaining.
