Fan pours milk on himself after Jarren Duran HR (Video)

Fan pours milk on himself, Orioles vs. Red Sox, 5/24/2025

A fan at Fenway Park poured a bottle of milk on himself after Boston Red Sox left fielder Jarren Duran hit a home run during Saturday's game against Baltimore.

It happened in the bottom of the first inning after the Orioles scored two in the top of the first to open the scoring. On the 0-1 pitch, Duran hit an 85 mph cutter into the stands in right-center field to cut the Orioles lead to 2-1. After Duran rounded the bases, FOX cameras cut to an angle of Red Sox fans celebrating, then switched to a fan wearing a green Indianapolis 500 T-shirt in an open aisle of the stands with a bottle of milk. After proudly displaying it to the crowd, he poured it all over his head, a clear reference to the tradition of Indy 500 winners enjoying a bottle of milk after the race.

It is certainly an unusual sight to see a fan drinking milk at a baseball game at any level, let alone pour the milk all over himself. That makes us tend to think that the incident was not spontaneous but rather a pure marketing stunt. The Indy 500 is tomorrow, and FOX is broadcasting the event live. FOX happens to be the same network airing Saturday's Orioles-Red Sox game. You take that with the T-shirt that the "fan" was wearing and it all makes sense.

Fenway Park has had its share of strange incidents involving food in recent years, from HR balls causing popcorn spills to foul balls landing in fried dough. This one was funny to watch, even though it was a bit staged.

As of this writing, the game is tied at 5-5 in the top of the eighth inning.
