Miami Marlins center fielder Dane Myers broke his bat over his knee and slammed the pieces of his bat and his batting helmet down on the ground after striking out during Thursday's MLB game in San Francisco.
It happened in the top of the fifth with two outs and a runner on first with the Marlins leading 8-5. With the count 0-2, Myers swung and missed on an 82 mph slider thrown by Giants reliever Spencer Bivens. Myers lashed out in frustration by breaking his bat in half over his knee, slamming down each of the broken halves on the ground, then throwing his batting helmet down with both hands. The outburst prompted Giants color commentator Mike Krukow to mock Myers with the word "Bush", implying his temper tantrum was "bush league" or unprofessional.
"Bush."

We have seen batters break their bat over their knee after striking out before. Although it is an impressive feat of strength, it is not a good look. Myers compounded that by throwing the bat pieces and helmet down. Looks like he could use some anger management training.
Myers finished the game 1-for-5, but the Marlins beat the Giants 12-5 to extend their winning streak to four straight games, so hopefully that helps him feel a bit better about things.
