A fantastic shot by top-ranked golfer Scottie Scheffler was overshadowed by some extra "wind from behind" as someone was caught passing gas on a hot mic during Thursday's first round of The Open Championship.
It happened during Scheffler's approach shot on the par-4 17th hole with Scheffler at 2-under. As the ball on its way down from its highest point, a loud fart was heard somewhere near the fairway. The ball landed on the green and stopped rolling less than 5 feet away from the hole, but television broadcasters at The Open were too busy trying to contain their laughter.
The commentary that followed during the replay was hilarious, including "Just a little bit of wind from behind"...

It's like the late George Carlin used to say: Farts are funny. Even joke about farts are funny. In fact, they are even more funny when you least expect them.
Scheffler had a solid opening round, shooting 3-under par and only one shot behind the leaders.
