Mr. Met, the official mascot of the New York Mets, suffered an embarrassing mishap when he fell off the stage during a Lumineers concert at Citi Field Friday night.
The concert was at the home of the New York Mets, who were on the road in Kansas City for a weekend series. Therefore, it made sense for Mr. Met to be in attendance, but things did not go well for him.
Instead of wearing his Mets uniform, Mr. Met was wearing a white shirt and suspenders to match the look of the band. When tossed a tamborine by lead singer Wesley Schultz, Mr. Met fell to his knees and dropped it. After picking it up and walking across the stage, he misjudged the edge of the stage, causing him to miss a step and fall off stage in front of the crowd.

We have seen mascots take mortifying falls before, but Mr. Met was close to being seriously hurt. Fortunately, he got up right away to indicate he was OK (must be the extra padding), confirming that on X later on in the evening. Here is a closer look at that fall:
Don’t worry, I don’t oppheeliiia too bad.
