- A fan at Chase Field almost fell 20 feet when trying to catch a home run ball hit by Prince Fielder at last night's Home Run Derby. Fortunately this fan was grabbed by his brother and a friend when he fell forward and they were able to pull him back up. However, Chase Field may want to review their security procedures, as Big League Stew shows some amazing photos of the fan dangling over the railing. However, it also shows pictures of the fan clearly behaving recklessly by standing on a table at the top of the railing that was only made for holding drinks.
- In Castle Rock, Colorado, three parents (including a town prosecutor) are facing charges stemming from a fight that broke out during a youth baseball tournament in June.
- Details are now becoming available from the police report detailing Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Hines Ward's arrest on suspicion of drunk driving. Ward failed field sobriety tests and a breathalyzer came up positive for alcohol.
